Played in squads of two to four, the main objective is to descend into the dark, abandoned, and perilous ruins of the "Old World" to film terrifying monsters and chaotic moments on camera. The core dynamic of the game is built upon survival and resource management. While struggling to survive with limited oxygen and camera film, players aim to go viral by uploading their terrifying footage to the in-game platform, "SpöökTube". The ad revenue generated from these views is used to purchase upgraded broadcasting equipment, emotes, and medical supplies to better prepare for the next dangerous dive. With its physics-based engine, proximity voice chat system, and the freedom for players to design their own custom ASCII faces, Content Warning delivers a highly tense yet immensely entertaining team experience.
